The supply of omega-3 unsaturated fatty acids in animal feed has recognized beneficial effects, particularly on animal fertility and on the quality of the final products. In ruminants, however, to achieve an absorption of these efficient omega-3 forms in the small intestine, it is necessary to protect them from rumen biohydrogenation.
