The concept is based on a pyramid with 4 masts supporting the nacelle in order to better distribute the stresses on the structure compared to conventional single-tower solutions; consequently, the weight of the structure is reduced by more than 40% compared to current standards. The pyramidal concept for floating offshore wind unit has been patented by EOLINK.
In addition, the solution is using shipbuilding techniques with thin steel panels to ease the automation in the manufacturing process.
