Since 1928, official supplier of quality Breton cider...
A FAMILY STORY
Within the Cidrerie de RhuysNicol, we proudly claim to belong to the peasant class. It all started in 1928 with André and Alice NICOL, farmers in Surzur.
They produce their own cider and deliver their barrels to a few bars and restaurants of Vannes. It was in 1960, with the succession of their nephew Jean NICOL, that cider corked was launched. The latter is this time packaged in individual bottles with constant quality, thus opening up the market for creperies and individuals.
In the early 90s, Jean’s eldest son Didier took over from his father. His two brothers, Jean-Michel and Pascal, then his son Valentin joined him on this adventure and accompanied him in the development of the family business which currently has 8 employees.
With 13 hectares of orchards, four of which are red label, the cidrery harvests and purchases apples of local varieties.
Ciders regularly collect prizes in national and regional competitions.
