Avel robotics is the first company worldwide to manufacture hydrofoils for competitive sailing boats using additive manufacturing processes (AFP for Automated Fiber Placement).
Our company has built a solid reputation after years of research and development in the additive manufacturing of high-performance carbon fiber parts, which is a revolutionary approach for the nautical industry.
Our first and primary market is the production of foils, rudders and other appendages for racing boats such as IMOCA or ULTIM classes. The mechanical properties are therefore perfectly replicable.
Another advantage of A.F.P layup is the reduction of scrapped fabric materials versus traditional layup techniques. Avel process only requires half of the materials used by other carbon part manufacturers.

Avel robotics’ secondary markets is the naval industry: we are aboard the “Solid Sail” 70 meters mast project together with Chantiers de l’Atlantique.
